OVERALL Rani is a very cute little girl, though sensual is not a quality that she would personally give herself, other people could depending on the relationship they have with her. She sees herself as more adorable as she tends to be an alternative mermaid. She has bright, unnaturally orange hair, that she loves more than anything. It is straight as a pin and she has edgy bangs that cover part of her face. She has wide eyes, almost innocently large. They are hazel and they are turned down just slightly in the corners, especially when she smiles. She has a button nose and she has really thick, but not to wide of lips. Her teeth, though it seems crazy for someone to have perfect teeth, she does. She has high cheekbones, and very well groomed eye brows. She isn’t too short in stature, but her limbs are shorter and make her look smaller and cuter.
When she has touched water, she automatically begins forming, and she loses any balance, falling to the floor. Her tail is teal in color and her scales glimmer in the sunlight, changing from a light turquoise to a deep teal. Her hair lengthens and almost seems brighter, though she swears it doesn’t changed at all. Her tail is about six inches longer than her legs are on land. She enjoys making jewelry for herself out of seashells, and loves wearing water lilies and other water flowers in her hair. Her mermaid friends tease her and call her Arial because of how cliché she looks.

OVERALL Rani has spent her whole life believing she was something special. She was always a bit spoiled. She had everything for her, money, beauty, love from others. But when she didn’t have anyone to hide behind, she flops underneath the pressure. She has always been dependent upon other people. She didn’t mind. Her parents had always told her that she was a princess, and she believed them, perhaps a little too well. She was always very intelligent in some things, but very naïve in other things.
Now that she is trapped without her family, she has gone into a little shell to keep herself safe, and it’s like she has no voice at all. She built a wall around herself, and although she was a very outgoing, friendly little guppy, she now hardly talks to anyone at all. She has a temper and she tries to fight the people who imprisoned her, but she always get s a result she doesn’t like and she recoils. She has had a hard time, with them slapping her or calling her a stupid (insert water creature here), not thinking of her like the princess she grew up believing she was.

OVERALL Rani was born into royalty and she knew it from the start. She was always treated like royalty, even by her adoptive parents. Meredith and Ervin Zittel were always lovers of the sea and good friends of the Beckers, and when Marina wanted to start having children, they agreed to take care of the children until it was time for them to go through puberty and gain their mermaid tails. The children were spread apart in age, so they never knew about one another until they were brought into the ocean. Nerin and Rani were the only two who knew about each other, as they were the closest in age. But when Nerin was younger she didn’t really remember Rani.
Rani spent the first 14 years on land, going to private school, which was paid for by her birth parents, and stayed home a lot, so she was around humans, but not surrounded by them. Even with the race war going on, Rani had no sign of the mermaid gene on her so she could pass off as completely human and she did so. When she started to go through changes, she became very anxious and scared. But once she was told of her actual history, not the fake one made up by her adoptive parents. Rani was arranged to marry one of the princes from the other mermaid kingdom in the pacific ocean, Prince Erik. She was to marry him on her twenty first birthday.
During a point in her life, probably a couple of years back, she was visiting her adoptive parents, as she continued to stay close to them, the only Becker child who did. She was going to tell Nerin about what was going on, and why she was going through the changes. She was going to tell Nerin that she was a princess just like the rest of the fam, and going to drop a present off for Cordelia. That was when they caught her. They splashed her with some water. They pulled her into their van and told her that they had been watching her for months and they were going to sell her to the Franklin Park Zoo. She has been observed by humans there ever since, as a display, another animal, like a tiger or a turtle. There are only a few other mermaids in the tank with her, but she doesn’t know any of them, though they know her, Princess Rani.[/color][/ul]
